This June will be my first time at the Camp. Looking for some pointers on what bait and methods to use to catch walleye and pike. Do worm harnesses fair well? and if so what colours seem to work best? With Pike how is the early morning top water bite?? many lily pads and weeds to fish in??? how do spoons such as a red devil or 5 of diamonds work in the area. Thanks for any heads up!!! can't wait to get there!

Billie Boy,
I find worm harnesses work well with walleye. Black and
purple, pink, green and yellow are good colours to try. Hot n
tots work well too. I have seen some guys use meps #2 with
a worm on it as well. Blue or perch coloured rappellas work
for walleye as well. Pike on the other hand will feed on any
of these things also. They also like shiny spoons, anything
that will annoy them. Normally we do a lot of jigging in the
evening for walleye. Same colour jigs as the worm
harnesses.
If you get in some of the back bay there will be some weeds.
There does not seem to be many people using top lures
though. A lot of the pike are actually caught in deeper water
than you would think while trolling for walleye. If you head
up past our outpost there are some great weedy spots for
pike. This is a great place for an afternoon trip.
